“Why Anomaly? How did the idea for this store come about?”

It started with a love story — not the traditional kind, but a lifelong love of vintage furniture, storied artwork, soulful lighting, and pieces that feel as though they’ve lived a life before finding their way home. As an interior designer, I noticed something time and again: clients were drawn to vintage pieces, yet unsure how to layer them with newer elements. They worried about getting it wrong. But the truth is, the magic of a well-designed space often lives in the unexpected — the tension between old and new, polished and worn, familiar and rare.

“So you created a place to teach that?”

Exactly. Anomaly was born from the desire to show people that their homes don’t have to look like a catalog. Here, design is personal. It is collected, not manufactured. I also saw a need for artwork that feels authentic and attainable — pieces with character, created by talented local artists, offered at approachable price points so collectors at any stage can bring something truly original into their homes. Because art should spark conversation, not blend into the background.

“And the global pieces?”

Those are especially close to my heart. Through a dear friend who travels the world professionally, I’m able to source distinctive rugs and decor firsthand — objects shaped by culture, craftsmanship, and history. These are not items you will see everywhere. In fact, once a piece leaves the store, it is gone for good.

“So the space is always changing?”

Constantly evolving. Anomaly is designed to feel alive — a thoughtful blend of past and present where every visit offers something new to discover. No two experiences are exactly alike, because no two pieces are exactly alike.

“Which brings us back to the name…”

An anomaly is something rare. Unexpected. Beautifully different. That is the spirit of this store.

In a world increasingly filled with mass production, Anomaly is a celebration of individuality — a place for those who believe their homes should reflect a story no one else can replicate. After all, the most memorable spaces aren’t perfectly matched…

They’re wonderfully anomalous.
